A bit of a change from the regular, this homemade applesauce is perfect for these crisp fall evenings

Ingredients:

  • 4 quinces
  • 2 ripe pears
  • 2 eating apples (ex McIntosh)
  • 2 cooking apples (ex Cortland)
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Peel and quarter all the fruit.
  2. Place in a Pyrex dish, sprinkle with vanilla sugar and cover tightly with foil. Bake for one hour.
  3. Mash with the back of a fork, or for finer consistency blend with immersion blender.
