In this week’s Torah portion, Moshe Rabbeinu (Moses) urges the Jewish People to abandon their worship of avodah zara, idols. In that spirit, we present a series of jokes poking fun at the worship of idols.

1. What did one Egyptian tell the other Egyptian when he saw the Jew slaughtering his korban Pesach (Paschal lamb; Passover sacrifice)?

OH MY GOD!!

(Though we are days before Rosh Hashana, not Passover, here’s an article with background on the Pesach offering.)

2. What do you call an idol that gets on everybody’s nerves?

A BUDDHA-PEST

3. What did one idol tell the other idol?

NOTHING- IDOLS CAN’T TALK!

4. Why do missionaries like cars without roofs?

BECAUSE THEY ARE CONVERTABLE!
